Evgenia Emets buries her Eternal Forest Manifesto scroll at Spirit Sanctuary, a green cemetery in the Adirondacks. The Manifesto has been read in multiple forests around the worldETERNAL FORESTThe Eternal Forest project was launched in May 2018 in Góis, Portugal, by artist Evgenia Emets as an invitation to reconsider our fundamental relationship with the forest. As our 2024 resident, Emets realized a series of public walks along the Black Kettle and Spirit Sanctuary Trails near Bouquet Mountain. These gatherings were an invitation for collective wonder and play within the Split Rock Wildway Corridor. She also shared work she developed during her month-long residency—drawings, video, and an outdoor sculpture installation—at a pop-up exhibition at Whitcomb’s Arts.
